DAY AND NIGHT

The warmth from your rays draw me in,

And turn to prickly heat on my skin,

Desperation to please you becomes a sin,

For with every action I know I can’t win.

Wounds slashed opened, the damage is done,

As we try to untangle the web that we’ve spun,

You feel that it’s ended, I feel it’s begun,

For I am your moon and you are my sun.

Continuously perplexed, with the he and the she,

One thing that’s evident, it’s clear to me,

This pattern is eternal and will continue to be,

Until we break out and set ourselves free.

The pain is heavy, the pain is so real,

And I know it’s something you need me to feel,

I understand it, I’ve felt it, so before you I kneel,

And allow time to create space that’s needed to heal.
